This is the true story of preacher David Wilkerson (1931 - 2011), who goes into the ghettos of New York to contact youth gangs and addicts to show them the love of God. His confrontation with Nicky Cruz, the feared gang leader, causes a dramatic change in Nicky and many others. The original events of this classic happened more than 50 years ago. Yet this was just the beginning of the life-changing message that David Wilkerson is able to bring to many helpless young people. The changes in the life of gang leader Nicky Cruz, as shown in the film, have proven to be lasting and real. Today, Nicky reaches out to young people around the world with the same life-changing message about Jesus Christ who saved him from despair.
